One import, nothing retyped

Switching from Sortly or BoxHero

Bring your whole inventory across in a few minutes: items, folders, quantities, min levels, prices, barcodes, tags and custom fields. Preview the result before anything is written, and run it again as often as you like without doubling stock.

How the move works

  1. Step 1

    Export and upload

Export from Sortly or BoxHero and drop the file in. InventoryFlo recognises the format and fills in the column mapping for you.

  2. Step 2

    Check the mapping

Every column is shown with sample values and what it becomes in InventoryFlo. Change anything, or skip columns you don’t need.

  3. Step 3

    Preview, then import

See the full outcome first: new items, opening stock, duplicates, conflicts and plan limits. Import when it looks right, and download a report of anything that needs a second look.

What comes across

Folders

Nested folders become nested categories or locations, keeping their structure.

Quantities by location

On-hand quantities are posted as opening stock, per location, valued at unit cost when the file has one.

Min levels

Min levels and safety stock become reorder points, so low-stock alerts work from day one.

Barcodes and SKUs

Barcodes and SKUs come across as they are, leading zeros included, ready to scan.

Photos are copied from the public links in your export. Duplicates in the file (the same SKU twice, two items sharing a barcode, the same name in different folders) are merged or renamed and listed in the preview, so nothing is lost silently.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to export from Sortly?
The Inventory Summary report, exported as CSV or Excel. It carries your items with their folders, quantities, min levels, prices, tags, notes, custom fields and public photo links. InventoryFlo reads the file as it comes out of Sortly — no reformatting.
What do I need to export from BoxHero?
Your item list as an Excel file. BoxHero puts each location in its own quantity column, so stock lands in the matching InventoryFlo location, and your custom attributes come across as custom fields.
Do Sortly folders become categories or locations?
You choose. Categories are the default and suit folders that group similar things. Choose locations when your folders are places, like rooms, shelves or vans; the same item kept in two folders then becomes one item stocked in two locations.
What happens if I run the import twice?
Nothing is duplicated. Items already in InventoryFlo are matched by SKU, barcode or name and either skipped or updated, your choice. Opening stock is only posted for items the import creates, so running the same file again never doubles your quantities.
Can I see what will happen before importing?
Yes. Every import starts with a preview: how many items, categories, locations and opening-stock lines will be created, every duplicate or conflict found in the file, and whether anything would go over your plan. Nothing is written until you confirm.
Does it work with other spreadsheets?
Yes. Pick "Other spreadsheet", upload any CSV or Excel file with one item per row, and tell InventoryFlo what each column means. Common column names are recognised automatically.
